Picking CottonEarly in my career one of my clients
came to me with this reminiscense of his childhood in southern Louisiana.
As a six-year-old who had not yet spoken English he picked cotton
with his dad to augment the family's income. One could hardly imagine
such humble beginnings for this very influential gentleman today, but these
memories are a part of what makes him who he is. I just helped to
give them life.

Skipping StonesThere are moments that seem to live
forever. Some are almost unreally serene. My parents, my brother,
my wife, and I all visited this place in 1982. We have never been able to
find it again since.

Old AustinThis work was recently commissioned by a long-time client for a new- but old styled- hotel near Austin's convention center. It is meant to build on the hotel's (and my client's) sence of abiding and gracious style. |

Mist TreesI liken art to farming. One may
plow the field, plant the seed, and tend the plant as it grows. Sometimes,
none the less, the plant will not yield good fruit. Other times the
work bears well. Here I farmed a neighbor's field and it bore good
fruit.
