Exhibit Design at Lee Jamison Gallery
Exhibit design
is a peculiar
specialty
requiring
interest in fields
that range well
outside the field
of art, as well
as an ability to
"play well with
others"

Lee Jamison has
created numerous
informational
projects in the
form of murals.
Each of these has
required  a
substantial
committment of
time and research.

The process of designing
and producing exhibit
displays can be surprisingly
frantic.  Shown here is a
diorama for Baylor that
went from design to
completion in less than 100
hours.
Trey Crumpton, at the
time a
student at the
Mayborn's museum studies
program developed the
insect-related content in
the diorama and was vital
to the development of the
overall design Jamison
produced.
Trey is now,
quite deservedly, a
member of the Museum's
staff.

More recent Jamison projects have also included actual design and production of full-fledged
museum displays.  In these projects cooperation with experts is vital.  Below are before and
after shots of the "Emergence of Man" gallery at Baylor's new Mayborn Museum Complex.
Florence Drew of Southwest Museum Services is shown carving on a segment of a
three-dimensional representation of an archaeological dig, an element for which she was the
principal designer.
