The first installment in a proposed "Mural Avenue" for
Houston's "Airline Corridor", this mural celebrates the heritage
and diversity of the Aldine area. As a part of a major public/private
revitalization effort spearheaded by the Airline Corridor Revitalization
Partnership this work bears the aspirations of a whole community.
Participants included art students from two area high schools, who designed
and executed the abstract panorama at the base of the main panel.

I enjoy the power of working big. Musical theater
was where I first did art for substantial numbers of people. It
planted the seeds of the way I approach art today.
Shown here- The "Friendship" Texas Flag Mural sets
the tone for the 113 year-old Driskill Hotel's Driskill Ballroom. I designed
and executed all the mural work in this historic room.

In addition
to murals
my work has included oils (some of which are mural sized
themselves) as well as acrylics. As the father of four school-agedchildren
I am very concerned with educational issues as well.
Many of my projects have been directed at schools and intended for
educational purposes. A good example of this is the Scott Johnson Memorial Mural at Scott Johnson Elementary
School in Huntsville, Texas. A web page on the story of this educational
project/historical mural is maintained on this website.

Over the course of a career spanning more than two decades I have painted
landscapes, still-lifes, and portraits professionally. Some of the
range of that experience is displayed on other pages in this site.
One of Jamison's works is a mural depicting the history
of little Lon Morris College,
after Baylor the second oldest surviving school in Texas and the
oldest junior college west of the Mississippi. The Lon Morris Millenium Mural Website explains
this mural and the college's long history.
